The Journey of Self

 

The shores of a forgotten sea give way to an endless desert. Arid, empty, directionless. A mystic realm in our collective unconsciousness. A setting that exists as demarcation between one journey and the next, in which those who travel through it are presented with the space with which to know and ultimately confront themselves. Rarely is it a journey of ease, but those who cross it are also rarely the same as when they entered, for the desert passage is one of change.

 

We comfort ourselves behind a grand masquerade, cast in our perceived roles in a play directed by nobody. To renounce our guises and abandon our stagecraft is to also discard our fears, and face the limbo that fills the space in between what we have cast aside.

 

If you will not be who you were when this journey began, who were you in the first place? With no road in the sand laid in front of you, where do you go? You must search within yourself, and find the way.
